Statement:
A painting has to become what it wants to be. When I make a painting I allow the colors to drip, swirl and begin to take form, usually from there I decide what direction the painting will go. I am intrigued how the drips, colors and hues interact and develop a relationship with the objects of the painting. The end result becomes an enchanted world. My purpose is to invite everyone into this world.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Nazmul Ahsan is a painter living and work in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was born in 1975. His M.F.A. in Painting was received from University of Dhaka, Fine Arts Faculty In 2005. And was honored by ‘Gold Madel’ for best performance.
He has exhibited his artworks in Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Canada. His works are in several public and private permanent collections.
He has solo exhibitions at La Gallery Alliance Francaise De Dacca, Bangladesh 2005, Artists Circle Gallery, Kolkata, India. 2008, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, India, 2013.
He Participation in numerous Group Exhibitions in home and abroad;
2013 : “Contemporary Bangladesh Art Exhibition” by Institute of Asian Creative.
Group Exhibition at Thailand.
2012 : Dhaka Art Summit
2009 : 1 mile² (a public art project) at Old Dhaka Organized by Britto Arts Trust
2007 : All India Annual Art Exhibition, organized by Academy of Fine Arts Kolkata, India. 17th National art Exhibition, organized by Shilpokala Academy.
2006 : 12th Asian Art Biennial Bangladesh
2004 : Art Exhibition in aid of the flood affected people organized by Society for Promotion of Bangladesh Art.
